Breann Murray Tolley is an internationally certified Doula and a Cherokee Healer. She is an initiated Cherokee High Medicine Woman in the family of Nanye'hi Ward. She has studied Herbology, Bioenergy healing modalities, and Nutrition for 10 years. Breann holds a certificate in Bioenergy from Western Carolina University and a certification in Cherokee Healing with a concentration in Vibrational Medicine and Birthing Rituals from the Eastern Band of Cherokee.

Vibrational Medicine is a Bioenergy modality giving the client relief from long-term problems such as headaches, muscle aches, pain, allergies, fatigue, food sensitivities, infertility, and other problems. In a Vibrational Medicine session, the client is provided the opportunity to learn what foods are most beneficial to her or his own body.

Breann’s current educational and professional project is cataloging the 763 Cherokee healing herbs growing in our area. This catalog will be published in book format as well as a video showing identification, harvesting, and medicine preparation. She is available to teach classes in the Chattanooga area.

Breann has additional training in Chinese medicine, Celtic medicine, and traditional foods. She is an organic, biodynamic farmer. Her family farm is Clover Wreath Farm in Cleveland, TN. Her products are available at the Main Street Farmers Market in Chattanooga, TN, Scenic City Food Cooperative’s Online Market, or through Clover Wreath’s CSA.

As a doula, Breann...

· Recognizes birth as a key life experience that the mother will remember all her life...

· Understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor...

· Has the personal, educational, and professional experience necessary to guide the mother and partner through this life changing process…

· Assists the woman and her partner in preparing for and carrying out their plans for the birth...

· Stays by the side of the laboring woman throughout the entire labor...

· Provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint, and assistance to the woman in getting the information she needs to make good decisions...

· Facilitates communication between the laboring woman, her partner, and clinical care providers...

· Perceives her role as one who nurtures and protects the woman's memory of her birth experience…

· Prepares the woman and her partner for the transition of parenthood...

· Makes dietary recommendations based on the woman’s physical structure and the needs of her growing child…

· Meets with the mother at least monthly before, during, and after pregnancy for a vibrational medicine session and to assess the mother’s needs…

· Is available by phone, text, Facebook, or email throughout pregnancy and postpartum for questions and concerns…

· Offers full breastfeeding support.

I recommend all pregnant mothers also have a physician or midwife. I also recommend the use of hospitals, birthing homes, or clinics unless the mother is extremely comfortable with homebirths and has given birth to more than one healthy baby.
